This morning Jessica and I headed off to Brick Lane. We both read the novel Brick Lane by Monica Ali. Jessica and I were excited to explore the neighborhood that this book was based off of. There were so many exciting shops and markets. I loved just observing the community and being in a place in London that does not seem to be often inhabited by tourists. There was so much graffiti and street art to see in the area.
That afternoon, Jessica and I met up with Laura Douglass, Paul, and Taylor for afternoon Tea at Westminster Abbey. It was so nice to relax and enjoy some tea and treats in such a beautiful setting. We concluded the evening with a visit to the National Gallery. I love the National Gallery. I feel like no matter how often you visit, there is always more to see. It is amazing that they have so many famous works of art and influential peices.
I hope everyone at home is having a wonderful Fourh of July! I hate that I am not at home celebrating with you all!
